What are the key messages you would like to send: he is always a great support when i need him. he helped me through a life threatening illness. this has really been a "for better/ for worse" committment. he has been a rock for me. we love to sing broadway shows together in the car. a certain word or phrase will set us off to sing(with or without music) lorin is an extremely generous man–of his time and he has helped many people when they have had difficult times.
Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable moments that you would like to share: we met on a blind date. i liked him immediately. he talks and dances with his hands. he is extremely smart and intelligent. i go to him with any and all questions, and usually he knows the answer or knows something about the subject. lorin has survived several medical crises. i've tried to take very good care of him, as he has of me.
Do you have any other comments or thoughts: Lorin started his own marketing research business about 30 years ago.. he hung in there and it became successful he has a wonderful work ethic. he retired 6 years ago- in the midst of an unpleasant/sad shake-up.; the point being that he was betrayed—he was very upset for 5 years. last year he "woke up" and decided he needed a new start. we moved one hour from where we lived. it has been difficult for me, as he knows, but i chose to be with him and move with him despite my unhappiness. lorin is enjoying himself for the first time in many years with the new house. he as many projects, and he is happier, which makes it worth it. so i am saying that i am devoted to him

Do you have any last comments or thoughts: lorin loves to tell and hear jokes. he reads alot, and knows the classics. it is fine with me if you quote from sources other than yourself, if it works. he would love to be in the midst of shakesperian words for example. he also is a master bridge player, enjoys gambling(yuck) and worked for years in community theatre in plays.
We Be
Hello, my wonderful Lorin,
these words are just for you,
because I'm proud of who you are,
and I'm very proud of what you do.
And I just wanted to say "I love you",
but in truth, I didn't know where to start,
so I thought I'd share a few feelings,
and give you some words, they're straight from the heart:
Firstly, I'd like to begin by looking skywards,
and thanking those in the heavens above,
because I know I've been blessed to have shared you,
I know that I've been blessed with your love.
I wanted to get you something that you would not expect,
something that expressed exactly how I feel,
because I know what we have is something so precious,
it's a treasure that you could never beg, borrow or steal.
I wouldn't trade you for anything in the world,
all the tea in China or all the fishes in the sea,
because I love you so very, very much,
you've made my world a great place to be.
You're always been a great support when I need you,
you've helped me face my dragons (and we've won),
your love has been my inspiration, my light,
in every way, you've been like my morning sun.
You have lived the meaning "for better and for worse",
you couldn't have been more committed, even if you'd tried,
and when I think of you, strange things happen,
my eyes well up, my chest swells and fills with pride.
To put it simply, you have been my rock
a rock that sings Broadway shows with me in the car,
and did you know, if my love for you were a distance,
then it would be further than the furthest star?
You've always been such a kind and generous man,
you've helped many people when they've had difficult times,
and I just wanted to thank you for being you,
you are the one that has put the reason in these rhymes.
We met on a blind date, but I was not blind,
I liked you immediately, as you talk and dance with your hands,
you are also extremely smart and intelligent,
and you always give me an ear that understands.
I go to you with any and all of my questions,
invariably, you know the answer just off the cuff,
and I wanted to express my love for you,
but at times, mere words are never enough.
Because I've tried to take very good care of you,
and in return, you've taken very good care of me,
just know that I am totally devoted to you,
you've made my world a great place to be.
And I know that you know a lot about market research,
but I've researched the market, and you're the very best,
and I just wanted you to know that I love you very much,
yes Lorin, it's official, you've passed the ultimate test.
Because I know you felt betrayed by those you trusted,
but now I am glad, you've finally awoke from that haze,
and I know you're enjoying your many new projects,
so I foresee, for us, only the happiest of days.
I know I've struggled a little with the move,
but seeing you happy, also makes a happier "me",
and I know that you like a touch of Shakespeare,
so I think we've answered "To be or not to be?"
Because happily, we've chosen and fought to be,
and in the end, with our love, that's all we'll ever need,
and I know that we have our strength and determination,
so through it all, we're simply destined to succeed.
Of course, we've had our share of ups and downs,
but life is rarely, if ever, a rose filled dream,
but through it all, we've stuck together,
we've proved to the world we truly are a team.
You're truly great at everything you do,
and you're a fantastic person to be around,
it's marvelous to be living my life with you,
my love for you simply knows no limit, no abound.
I have so much love, respect and admiration for you,
and every day, you prove just how much you truly care,
and if I could visualize the perfect husband,
well, my mind would conjure up a picture of you standing there.
I hope you know by now that you're my one and only,
in truth, I simply love you with all my heart and soul,
for with you in my life, I feel so complete,
yes, you do make me feel so completely whole.
I'd also like to say Happy 75th Birthday,
I guess that's really what these words are for,
here's to you, Lorin, you're truly wonderful,
and here's to our everlasting love, for evermore.
